The Pump House Museum will kick off their live speakers series at 7pm on July 5, 2018 in the Pump House Museum and Learning Center.

The featured speaker will be Mr. John Gronberg, president of the Holland Harbor lighthouse Historical Committee. He will explain how a grass roots group of area residents came together to save the Holland Light House from destruction.

Valerie van Heest, designer of the “Big Red: Navigational Aid to Cultural Icon” exhibit, will give an overview of the stages of the life of the Holland Harbor Lighthouse and Fog Signal Building.
“If you think you know everything about Big Red – you really don’t.” commented Ms. van Heest.

Dan Aument, HOBS President said, “This is the first time the full story of the lighthouse has been presented in a museum setting. We are pleased with the scope and depth of the exhibit, and we are getting a lot of positive visitor comments about it.”
